Portland producer patchnotes returns with his sophomore album "Endless Surrender", delivering a kaleidoscope of emotions across his signature cinematic soundscapes. His new album refines his blissful sepia-toned electronic music into a finely tuned machine of crescendoing synthesizers, washes of ambient haze and soaring glitched vocal melodies. The pulsing rhythm never strays far from the tectonic center of the album, like a heartbeat that unifies each track into a greater whole. While the album's hi-fi sonic palette veers more toward synthwave and stately vaporwave, the tenderness and grandiosity of his production harkens back to post rock and maximalist indie rock of the 2000s.
